In Adobe Illustrator, there is an option to scale strokes and effects (Preferences > General > Scale Strokes & Effects) as we are scaling an object using Transform Tool, which is very useful because sometimes we have to turn that feature on or off.

I thought the Transformed Stroke option in the Appearance panel in VectorStyler would be the same as the Scale Strokes & Effects option in Adobe Illustrator.

But if I check the Transformed Stroke option, the stroke width of the selected object will get scaled automatically. Please check the following file:

Please watch this video (after the 01:00 time):

Adobe Illustrator's Scale Strokes & Effects option

The stroke width of the object will only get scaled if we are doing a scaling action

@gotanidea It is not the same option.
In VS, stroke scaling is nondestructive, so this option affects all strokes.

This can also be set at object level.

Should the document level option affect only objects created after it was set?

@VectorStyler I downloaded the file, tested and what I think @gotanidea means is that the stroke
should stay at the current width when you enable the Transformed Stroke option for the path (in
          the Appearance panel's menu).

If I do that now, it jumps from 2 pt width (back?) to 0.3 pt.

What is needed is for the stroke width to stay at 2 pt when you enable Transformed Stroke in the
Appearance panel, then increase or decrease when the object is scaled.

          Is that correct, @gotanidea ?

I added this to the backlog, and will try to find a solution.
This is a bit bigger problem, and it might need a different option for this.

@VectorStyler Thanks Admin. The Scale Strokes & Effects checkbox in Adobe Illustrator is essential for scaling a complex object that consists of various stroke widths
