Path Width tool causes VS to freeze

I'm running into a consistent issue with the path width tool causing VS to freeze and require a force quit and relaunch. Sometimes it takes a few edits and sometimes it happens almost immediately. Here is an example of this happening

I've restarted VS, restarted the whole computer, closed out all other apps in case I was low on RAM as a result, etc.

@VectorStyler - the last several crash reports from me are all due to this same issue I described and the video link shows.

I am going to try it on another computer entirely and see if I get the same issue

@Boldline It happened here once when double-clicking with the Stroke Width tool
to add a new control point, but cannot replicate it again.

@b77 Yes sometimes that was a factor for me as well. It seems to happen more when there's aa reference image placed and locked on the screen below the path being adjusted.
I don't know if that's a real factor or not, but the width tool was working fine when there was no placed image in the file and had issues as soon as I added the image and locked it down. I was trying to pull out the handles of the width tool when they were very close to the node and it froze up again

Hopefully these crash reports will tell the story and point to the issue

The image I had placed was 4mb in size and very large. I reduced the size and dpi of the image and so far I've not had the same issues as before.

One observation I also made, VS generally seems to take
a bit long to deselect all Width Nodes, e.g. by clicking
anywhere on the canvas

only one simple curve in this file

doesnt know it exactly
i guess create some Width Nodes and choose one
in middle of two others. Make this Node bigger and smaller
and deselect it by clicking anywhere on the Canvas.

sometimes it needs a few more Nodes

@VectorStyler I just double-clicked to add a new control point to a brush
stroke instead of a simple click, and the app beachballed.

For me to was happening when I had a large image (4MB) in the background locked underneath it. If I start making ovals and cinverting to curves and then switching to the stroke width tool and adding new nodes to adjust. - eventually it freezes

The issue repeatedly happens even with lower resolution images linked in. Here is a video of it happening today

I'm testing the same file in build 83 to see if it freezes there as well to try to narrow down the issue
