Just submitted a crash report (via the dialog). I was playing around with the Shape Paint Tool coloring shapes when the app crashed. If you are interested in the crash dump, I can send it to an email. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to upload it here.

This is how you crash Shape Painter (see video link at the end):

        1. Create a new document.
        2. Select the "Super Shape" shape and draw an object with it. It will possibly work with other shapes but this is the shape I've used.
        3. Select Object > Transform > Transform
        4. For "Apply To" select "Clone"
        5. For the transform origin, select the middle dot on the right.
        6. For the Angle, select -60 or so degrees
        7. For Repeat, select 5. Click OK.
        8. Select the original object and select Object > Convert to Curves.
        9. With the Shape Editor Tool selected, drag and change some of the nodes of the original object.
        10. Select all the objects (original + the clones) and select Object > Convert to Curves.
        11. With all the objects still selected, select Styles > Shape Paint > Create Shape Paint
        12. Select the Shape Paint Tool and drag over selected areas to color them. Repeat a few times, adjusting the color as needed.
        13. Make sure all objects are selected and do Edit > Delete (or just use the delete key on your keyboard).

        The app has crashed.

The Shape Paint Tool seems to have a Bug.
What Shape doesnt matter, had the same disappearing then you.
Did not use it until crash.

The Shape Builder Tool will work, you could take that as an alternative.

          Here a Video

          Win 11
          CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 6-core.
          GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070.

@pentool Replicated here also. There are several problems when using clones inside shape paint objects.
