Background color assigned to the artboard not register as a color when printing?

Could the background color assigned to the artboard not register as a color when printing? Sometimes I use an off color or a shirt color that the design I create will eventually get screen printed on as the background color so colors in the design like white are visible during the print set up process.

@Boldline No, it is not printed nor exported. The artboard color is used as a guide, for cases where the drawing is printed on a paper of that color.

@VectorStyler ok but for me it shows up as a color to print in the print panel. I used red as the artboard color because nothing in my design has red in it - it's showing as a spot color and also the Magenta and Yellow both have it as part of the print preview
