Somehow the [CONVERT TO CURVES] is not working. Have a look:

@michaelokraj The content of a text frame is not converted to curves with the "Convert to Curves" command.
The shape of the text frame (which can be any parametric shape) is converted in this case.To convert the text inside the frame to curves, you need to convert it to a text shape first, with "Text -> Convert to Shape Text", and then use the Convert to Curves command.

@VectorStyler Ah thx. That worked. One can clearly see, I am / was using too much Adobe / Affinity as this is what they use to convert text to curves

This makes sense - I'm not usually using the text frame method so I can see why I never ran into this problem prior.
