Contour interaction with a group that contains clipping groups

If I create a contour on a clipping group, it contours the clipped shape as expected.
But if I create a contour around a group which contains a clipping group, it creates a contour around the clipped objects as if they were not clipped.In this image, the first is a clipping group with the contour applied to it. The second is a group which contains a copy of the same object, with the contour applied to the group.
While this is an interesting effect, it should probably not do that. Or have an option like "apply clipping groups".
