Contour Preview is wonky

If I add a contour and then go back to edit it (under contour options) there is a disconnect between the preview being visible and not visible. When I turn preview on it turns off the existing contour and shows nothing until I apply the changes and close the window. With preview off it shows the contour that was applied before the edit.
I'm on the OSX Silicon version.

@Comet Is this done with the Effects -> Contour panel?

I used the drop down menu, Effects/Contour/Contour Options
