Eraser function for Pencil tool broken

In the latest release on Mac (Intel) the eraser function in the Pencil tool is broken. It first seemed it did nothing at all, but I now noticed the red eraser line actually appears much to the right of the actual cursor. See below:

I hope you can fix this bug. Before this version it worked, but it did have the weird bug that it stopped working after a certain time, maybe as a result of switching applications but I could not pinpoint this exactly.
