Maybe I am too tired now for comfort - but my first encounter with the shape operations - cutting out something etc. simple needs - was confusing. So many unnessasary options in the toolbar. I opted for the knife tool for the sake of simplicity.

It is easy to see what I am trying to achive:

      • could the knife tool please also snap?
      • tried a straight line cut but got this? SHIFT + knife

@Ingolf Yes, snapping and Shift to cut an object with a straight line would be an improvement. 👍

Another nice thing to have would be to end up with two separate shapes directly, without having to choose 'Break Apart' afterwards.

@Ingolf Set the smoothness value (in the context panel) to very small. This is caused by the large zoom and path approximation issue.
There are also some bugs here I will address: it still should not end up like that curve, and we need a Control+ modifier to keep the knife along a line (including snapping).

@Ingolf As a workaround for now, this cutting can also be accomplished with the Exclude command. Draw a line over the same location and exclude the line from the dark green shape.
Then a break apart will separate the resulting shape.

              That of course worked, thanks!

@Ingolf This issue should be fixed in the new build 1.1.002 (beta)
