Pen Drag Issue

In the newest beta (21), using the pen tool to trace an object locked below, there are time when I click where i want a node to go and then drag to create an arc with handles. This works properly most of the time, but frequently enough, the path does not respond to the drag I mentioned. This occurred on the very last node I placed in this video attached. I also saved the file with history stored that i can send over.
It was happening periodically as I drew, so I started a video to capture it, it took a few clicks with the pen tool before it happened.🍎 macOS Tahoe 26.2, Mac mini (M1, 2020), Chip Apple M1, Memory 16 GB
