I'm working currently on an M1 Mac - the save icon at the bottom of the screen has remained black for quite a while, longer than usual. is anyone else having this problem?

@Boldline That should turn red as the document is changed, indicating that there are unsaved changes.
It could be that for some reason it does not get updated (maybe a bug).

@vectoradmin I should have been more specific, I have made many edits to the design and it still remains black. I did test to see if it saves properly and it does, even when it's black

@vectoradmin ok I saved the file and restarted VS and now it's functioning again. I thought I had already tried that common solution, but apparently not.

@Boldline That still means there could be a bug somewhere there. There should not be a need for a restart.

Works fine here and always did - first it changes to dark purple and after some changes glowing red. I like this icon and concept a lot. Maybe it should progress smoothly from yellow to orange and last red to signal how much is at stake if not saved now. Darkish variations of these colors of course.

Pssst returning to initial state in undo history doesn't reset it πŸ™‚

I for one would prefer leaving this button gray when the document is unedited, and going from its colorless gray to red.

Making it yellow is… too much. The less visual interference around the nice combination of colors on the canvas, the better.

                  IMO, and sorry to disagree.

Never be sorry about that with me around. πŸ™‚

I meant from a dark grey-yellow-ish tone over to red - very discreet - would make better sense to me than purple to red.

Anyway, theory. In reality I just don't see it at all and it doesn't matter. I never saw the purple before. Just the red symbol.

@Ingolf Yeah, I'm not sure about that purple either β€” it's not an intermediary color between gray and red. πŸ™‚

Anyway, this is what I meant:

Yeah, "rising temperature" - same concept. πŸ™‚

Perhaps the sound of a steaming kettle πŸ—£

I remember that sound from my childhood - and the sound of people running from another floor or the toilet. Stress before a relaxing cup of coffee/tea.

Yeah, keeps whistling until you press the Save button. πŸ™‚

(I hope the developer doesn't take us seriously on this one… πŸ˜‚)
