Gradient panel and color panel sync issues

I was about to request that when ie the stroke is active (in front) in the color panel and the gradient tool is activated, the stroke should be pre-selected in the gradient panel. It looks like that is intended in your code I now see. However, in this file at least - strange things happen. And in the end even more strange things happen.

Pssst: This is still the file you investigated yesterday. I ungrouped the layer with the stroke and the path with the fill below, it became the object / slice of bread with a correct stroke and fill. Visually at least, the data could be "challenged" of course.

Another observation:

Expand stroke results in a significantly darker gradient

@Ingolf Bugs that I found:

the expand stroke result is not the same (gradient is not shown correctly when it is a stroke).
both the panel and the gradient editor are not fully updated when changing between fill / stroke.
the editor is changing the stroke even if the fill is selected.

I added these to the backlog, am I missing something?
