This has been discussed before a while back. Occasionally, VS will want to close every open project tab when only one is initially intended. This usually happens when VS has been left open for a long period of time, either a long day of working in it, or if I put the machine to sleep with VS still open and come back to it later.
In this video, you can see I have several open tabs and try to close one of them - it prompts me one after another, to exit out every other open tab. Often the tab it is wanting to close is not the one displayed on the main screen, which can lead to confusion if you don't read the save warning closely.
On a side note, often if I have one project open and open another one, VS does not always go to that newly opened file, it will remain on the one already open and you have to go find the tab for the new one opened and click on it to see that file. I know this is not just my computer, because I was helping another user over skype - and they were sharing their screen with me as we worked and it occurred for them as well

@Boldline I will have to replicate this, added it to the backlog.

@vectoradmin I wish I had a good way to "share" the issue so it could be replicated. With some things obviously I can send a problem file or send my setting files over... with this, I don't know what you need!

@Boldline I think in this case the recording is the best you can do.
I do have some idea of what could cause such a problem, but it will take some time to make sure that it is indeed the root cause.

@vectoradmin I've gotten into the habit of opening VS fresh every day and sometimes mid-day if I've been doing a lot of work, just to help avoid potential issues like this. I don't always do so obviously, and this happens from time to time
