Shift+ modifier in path brush and eraser tool does not seem to constrain drawing to a line.

@Boldline it is "Draw Lines with Pencil"

@vectoradmin ok, if I understand you correctly, if I change the modifier in the modifier settings section of preferences for "Draw lines with pencil" and switch it from "control" to "shift" - that would affect how shift works with both the pencil as well as the eraser and path brush?

I made that adjustment in preferences and the eraser and path brush do not constrain when shift is engaged

@Boldline it has the same problem: it has to be pressed after the mouse is pressed.

@vectoradmin Thanks for your patience. I just tried using the path brush and the eraser doing what you said, starting the action and then engaging the shift modifier after and it does not constrain in either case. Are you successful in getting it to work with shift after starting the action? Do I need to restart VS?
Is there a way for VS to do this without having to start the action first? Unlike some features, when we select the eraser tool or the path brush tool, we are engaging that action to come. You're a developer so you would know far better than I, but wouldn't the fact that we switched to the eraser tool or the path brush tool tell VS that the next click and drag would be that function respectively and holding down the modifier beforehand would further limit what the tool is expected to do - even before you use it?

@Boldline Currently the Shift+ modifier will work only after the action is started, but a single mouse press (without dragging) is sufficient.
I added this to the backlog, and will try to make it to work even before the mouse is pressed.

@vectoradmin ok thanks - for me, right now even if I press down the modifier (I have it set to "shift" currently by changing the "draw lines with pencil" modifier in preferences) and use the path brush or eraser tools before engaging it, it still does not constrain my line as expected. Is it working for you?

@vectoradmin ok I will try restarting VS and see if that was the cause

@vectoradmin I'm still having problems getting the shift to work as an option to constrain the path brush and eraser tools. I removed my saved preferences file because even when I tried switching back to using control as the modifier, I was unable to use control or shift at that point to constrain anything. So I set the preferences back to default and restarted VS and the control modifier was again default and was working as it should - I was successfully able to constrain lines with the control key modifier at this point. I again switched it back to shift - still using the otherwise default preferences, and it was not constraining with the shift as the modifier. When I switch it back to control being the modifier again, it also does work properly anymore...

@Boldline There is a small change in how the eraser / path brush are handling lines, and will have separate settings from the Pencil tool.
