    1. Automatic styles panel groups from object reference groups ( accumulated )

    • object groups would be applied a "Style Group" role for activation of the feature
    • styles resulting from roles applied to the group members would appear in a group / folder in the styles panel automatically
    • if any two groups with the proposed role have the same name, their content would be merged in the styles panel
    • arbitrary nesting of groups with proposed role
      • structure would appear analagous in the styles panel
    • the ( group / folder )'s name would be fetched from the object group

    2. Canvas panel > Options > Recursively expand every.. ( accumulated )

    In the canvas panel, click the hamburger menu and select the "Expand to" sub-menu, then select either of

    • "Canvas", expands to canvas level of
      • if categories selected: specific categories
      • else: all categories
    • sub-menu "Artboard", then select either of
      • "All", expands to artboard level of
        • if categories selected: all canvases of specific categories
        • elseif canvases selected ( ignore any selected categories ) : specific canvases
        • elseif artboards selected: greyed out
        • else: all canvases of all categories
      • "{ x }", expands to artboard level of
        • x = First: first canvases
        • x = Integer: canvases at index ( a bit overkill, but there's always improvement to good UX.. )
        • x = Last: last canvases
          .. of
          • if categories selected: specific categories
          • elseif canvases/artboards selected: greyed out
          • else: all categories

     

    3. Keyboard shortcuts for switching between canvases and artboards ( accumulated )

    The commands eligible for shortcut assignment would be roughly analogous to the various ways of clicking on canvases or artboards in the canvas panel.

     

    4. Multi-stroke keyboard shortcuts ( accumulated )

    Right now shortcuts can only consist of a modifier plus a key. Some apps ( various JetBrains IDES for example ) allow for multi-stroke ones, like "ctrl + a, ctrl + b", so that the command is only executed after this exact sequence of shortcuts.

     

    5. More convenient layer name field editing ( accumulated )

    5.1 Description

    In the gif below I perform three actions, each as soon as the field editing is active or the name text area has been clicked, in order:

    1. Pressing ctrl + a as a common way to select all the text.
    2. Quickly double clicking the name text area in expectation to go into field editing.
    3. Repeatedly pressing ctrl + backspace as a common way to delete whole words.

    One results in all layers / objects being selected instead.
    Two results in the object options modal view popping up instead.
    Three results in whitespace being generated instead.

    • ctrl + backspace does work
    • strange behaviour
      • sometimes leaves temporarily unremovable ( by pressing backspace ) whitespace
      • seems to behave strangely with special characters
      • when the shortcut removes all of the remaining text, editing is disabled

    Currently one has to delete the export collection and then add objects to a new collection to remove and then add some objects. This is a little cumbersome.
