"False start" with pen tool linked to "create shape entry in history panel

The "false start" with the pen tool - where you click once to start the path and then click the second location for the second node and the path starts at the second node instead of the first like it should - that has not occurred too often but today it seems to keep happening. (I'm trying to capture it on a screen video.)

I noticed in the history panel, when the bug occurs, it registers as a "create shape" instead of a typical "change path" entry. could this be connected to the issue?

@vectorstyler I assume suffice you fixed this, you were able to replicate this?

@Boldline There were some problems around setting up undo.
Right now, the Pen tool may leave a Create Shape item there, but only if a node is created.
Let me know if this occurs again.
