I don't know if it's related to the issue I saw in @encart 's video here, but I realized the issue often occurs with new nodes having just been placed on the path.

I tested this out again in this video - all attempts aside from the last couple are with the stylus - the last two with the mouse. The stylus attempts only if I waited a couple seconds after adding the node before trying to click and drag it to a new location

This seems to be a consistent thing any time I add a new node and immediately attempt to click and drag to move it

@Boldline it only works if the mouse is released after the double click and then pressed again to select the node.

@VectorStyler Respectfully, I am doing exactly that - double click - release, then click and drag on the new node - and it does not move the first time. I have to wait longer and then try again

Then there is a bug, but I cannot replicate it here.

In this new video, I intentionally move the cursor away from the new node I double clicked to create - and then move it back again to click and drag and it does not seem to respond - only one actually worked when I gave it more time than usual

This is occurring when the stylus is being used - the issue does not seem to happen with the mouse. (this is not a new issue -this goes back farther than the other issue with nodes not turning to cusps)

I just tried using a different stylus entirely and have the same issue. I will test with a different company than wacom and on a different computer with a non-cintiq stylus setup and report back

This could be why I could not replicated. I add this to the other stylus / node related issue.

@VectorStyler Just sharing more info as I come across it. the double-click then release then grab issue is the easiest way to reproduce the error - but it can also occur often when grabbing existing nodes on a path, especially from medium range on out. It gets easier to grab and pull when the screen is zoomed in close. Here is an example of this struggle - all of this is with the wacom stylus on a cintiq. the mouse has less difficulty - just the occasional issue with selecting

I've essentially had to give up using the stylus for making paths with the pen tool and either use the mouse only, or use the pencil tool and adjust the nodes afterward with the stylus as best I can. I'm considering temporarily uninstalling VS and installing an older build still available on the forum and see if I have the same issues there - because it was not always like this.
my stylus driver is current and and has not needed updating in quite a while... I've tried calibrating the stylus as well. I'm at a loss
