I noticed that when I cut and then pasted an object in VS, it would paste properly, but then immediately lose the active selection box. It was throwing me off because I was expecting it to retain an active selection and would try to apply something to it and nothing happened - because it was unselected.
Cutting and pasting live text seemed to still work properly and retain its active selection after pasting

@Boldline Was the selection lost after undoing the Cut action?

@VectorStyler just checked again - yes, if I undo a cut, the shape loses it's selection upon reappearing. If I cut and paste, it seems to be working properly. Maybe I got confused in my initial post on that detail
