      I am certain I tested this before with intermittent success. The option 'Exclude Closed' is off.

      • I am able to add and extract new shapes with intersecting paths (starting inside or outside the closed shape).
      • I am not able to extract a closed shape from an existing closed shape (as per manual "If a newly created closed shape intersects with an existing closed shape, it will be extracted from the existing shape." ) https://www.vectorstyler.com/documentation/shapes/pathsketch/#sketching-closed-shapes
      • A new shape is created on top of the existing closed shape

        @syllie Make sure you overlap the end segment over the start
        segment when you draw those circles at the end of the video.

        If I do that, holes are "punched" into the object.
        (With 'Exclude Closed' disabled, drawing closed shapes won't
        create holes).

          That was the issue. But not having 'Exclude Closed' ticked means they are included right? and should be affected. Double negative that is confusing here I think.

          Thanks for the feedback.

            @syllie When enabled it means that if you draw a closed shape it will be used
            as the shape that 'excludes' (subtracts) in the Boolean operation.

            When disabled, it just creates a separate shape — no interaction with the
            other shape.

            Any suggestion to make the tooltip clearer is welcome, I think. 🙂

              Now it makes sense. And I have no idea how to make this clearer - I misinterpreted the meaning of this checkbox. Thanks.

                @VectorStyler
                If the 'Exclude' boolean operation was named 'Subtract', 'Subtract' would be used here as well,
                and there would be no confusion about the meaning ('Exclude' can be misinterpreted).
