@William-Kansepa Were there specific parts you wanted to highlight about each method?

@William-Kansepa I will review these. Some options are available in VS also when dragging text along the path.

@Boldline said in Inspired basic Text on a Path from Adobe Illustrator and Affinity Designer: @William-Kansepa Were there specific parts you wanted to highlight about each method? @Boldline thank you for your response. I was just demonstrating how the BASIC creation of text on a path (in this case an ellipse) has been simplified in those two applications. Note that the character settings for manipulating baseline, kerning, tracking etc... all work smoothly. The process is a breeze. Affinity's implementation of this noteworthy feature is a borrowed inspiration from Macromedia Freehand. Of course, VS has some advanced settings existing in the Text on Path Modal Window. However, creating this basic task is overly complicated in VS.

@William-Kansepa Thanks for explaining your thoughts on this. I agree with you completely. There are several examples like this in VS where the main task itself is a little more complex than it needs to be. VS has so many extra cool features that I don't want to compromise those either. I was asking you for more elaboration because we can all watch the video and pick up different things we like/dislike about the process being demonstrated. There's a value in articulating our own view and adding that to the conversation for improvement. I appreciate what you shared.
