So now that I've had some time with a busier document, I find the Layers panel is very often glitchy, clunky and hard to work with on my setup. Largely this is due to the below issues.

I recorded video on the behavior to make it more clear which elements are having the most problems as far as ignoring the clicks.

      A few things:

      1. Visibility & Lock icon ignore a good portion of clicks to activate/deactivate it. I feel like waiting a few seconds and then clicking usually gets it to finally trigger, but it's probably placebo.

      2. Click the arrow to expand/collapse the Layers panel works perfectly fine.

      3. Layer rename on single-click, generally speaking, is non-functioning for my setup.

      4. When clicking/toggling individual Objects and Layers (the unfilled/filled circle on the right), note there is a delay in that UI action actually firing. It's not a huge delay, but can mean sometimes things get grouped wrong when doing things like Shift/Ctrl clicks, which creates a bigger delay. So when working quickly through a document to collect items together for a group or Layer action for example, sometimes it'll deselect something I just toggled (or untoggled). I'll have to go back and rework it in/out of my current selection.

None of this is with tablet usage. I largely avoid working with the Layers panel with a pen and I often rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts. Once I learn them anyway...

Note: Just in case it isn't clear, the red circle around the mouse shows when I am clicking.

I emailed a link for a video for an odd Layer hover issue that caused a crash, so there's that.

        A new issue:

This is thankfully rare, but occasionally, selections just simply don't work or they just don't spawn a bounding box. *I disabled the mouse highlight temporarily because it was interfering with the color picker.

        In the video:

I'm clicking around trying to get things to happen with the Bucket Fill. Unfortunately, because I'm new I can't tell what is expected behavior, but it seems to either not be triggering because of the selection problem or I'm not using the tool properly. Either is possible.

I did not notice it right away, but although these objects were toggled in the Layers panel, they were not showing a bounding box on the Canvas. This didn't impact it taking a Fill though, but once that fill was made, it was able to be selected on the Canvas from that point, ie the bounding box appeared again. Very odd.

This is just after freshly reopening the document after VS crashed.

Edit: Is it because I'm not using the Transform tool? Weird.

It could be. What tool is active when no bounding box is shown?

Some tools have no indication of selection, or just a very thin blue outline.

@debraspicher One thing with the Layers panel: try the default workspace (by resetting all settings and workspace) to see if these issues still occur for you.

@VectorStyler I will record what happens and try this. I'm assuming you meant I should close the program, empty that folder and restart. Here is the current WS: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuWHX0h5bAoRio85uIVBi9AD0bVIFQ?e=pEx84C

By the way, is there a way to save Panel Options? I'm assuming that is saved to the WS itself?

Yes, the workspace will contain panel positions and some state.

@VectorStyler I did the wipe. Long story short, yes, the behavior is still occurring and no differences there:

Edit: Checking current WS folder contents only has a /resources folder in case that is of help: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuWHX0h5bAoRio88ioaZnAAoeIhbvg?e=G6ACSk
