Show Grid Shortcut Key not working

This shortcut isn't working at all. I did discover something interesting. I went to investigate the shortcuts panel to see if I could "reenter" the shortcut, maybe it would register then. If I searched the shortcut, it couldn't put "Ctrl + ;" in the field. I could put things like "Ctrl + E".
If I went to try to set it for the Show Grid option manually, it wouldn't let me input this at all. So for some reason Ctrl + ; refuses to be read.
I've experienced Ctrl having issues at other times being read. Some tools read it inconsistently, such as temporarily turning off snapping with the Node tool. I've already reported Ctrl + zoom commands are finicky and often don't take in the program (for me, anyway). Hopefully this helps to narrow down these issues.

Note in the bottom left it shows keys being pressed.

@debraspicher Yes, there seems to be an issue with the Ctrl+; key combination. I will try to find a solution for this.
