Text on Path gets disconnected when cutting and pasting even when grouped

I have live text on a circular path that I have grouped along with other objects. If I grab several different grouped objects and attempt to align them, the live text disconnects from the path. If I cut the grouped live text on path and try to paste it, it also disconnects.
