Dragging Objects into the Layers panel causes a crash

I was curious if it would work. It did not. When moving back to the panel to highlight and do other Layer panel activities, the mouse behaved like it was still holding items and so was highlighting within the panel and occasionally auto-scrolling. Then the program crashed.
