Perpetually highlighted Selection Tool button

I was playing with the shape tools and noticed that the Selection Tool button was inexplicably highlighted, but inactive. I never toggled it on, and selecting other tools won't de-select it.

Thanks for the feedback.
This is intended functionality:
The "box" selection tool is active at the same time as other tools are active.
The selection modes are box, magic wand, lasso and polygon tools.
The selection tool is "active" in combination with an other tool.
For example: lasso selection can be used with the node tool.
