Paning is locked when Simplify Path popup window is active.

I used mouse and Spacebar and both were inactive. Only zoom in/out worked. As I remember i had that problem with other popup as well.

@encart Everything is blocked when the Object -> Simplify Path popup window is active, including zooming.
Should it be a non-modal popup (like the panels)? -
If that is the reason, than in my opinion we should change it. It's hard to see result when preview is on, and object is complex.
No, zooming is still possible. I can zoom in/ out with scroll but is not focused on target. -
@vectoradmin The modal windows of effect settings should also allow panning the canvas — if they are displayed over the object you're editing you need to pan the view to see what the effect does.

@encart @b77 The simplify path view has been replaced with a floating view. It is auto confirming (as the smoothness is adjusted).
Selection can be changed while the view is on.About the Shape/Image effects modal view. This remains modal for now (no access to document while the view is open). The Shape/Image effects panel can be used for non-modal editing.

@vectoradmin I like the way the Simplify panel is coming together. Would it make sense to have a ghost image of the original shape there so the viewer can compare the simplified path to the original shape?
Maybe have it be a toggle - to view original shape or turn it off?
That was the first thing I thought of when I used it, because I started to forget where the shape started from -
