@861475_VctSt Import should work for plain text files and RTF files. But that also creates text frames.

        @vectoradmin

I was able to import English. I can't import Japanese.
I wonder if it will be possible once the problem is solved.

I've been using copy and paste for a long time because I didn't know about it until now.

@861475_VctSt That looks like a bug. It should support Unicode text files. I add this to the backlog.

@861475_VctSt What app is used to save the text file in Japanese? I'm trying to replicate the importing issue.

I mainly use "CotEditor" on a daily basis. I also use "JeditΩ" depending on the type of work.
For naming work, copying and pasting words and phrases, I use the clipboard application "Clipy" for pasting.

@vectoradmin I also use Clippy. But anyway, with Clippy running or stopped, pasting a simple line of Latin text here will create a new text frame in the corner of the view, instead of inserting it in the text frame (where I double-clicked and selected all 'Lorem Ipsum' text).

EDIT: Just tested and the same issue happens on Sierra.

@b77 Uploaded a new build with a fix for the text pasting and importing issues.

Note: when importing text from TXT files, the text should be either UTF-8 or UTF-16 encoded.
When importing RTF files, Japanese text is ShiftJIS encoded.

                    Thank you for everything!

Japanese text Import now works, which is very convenient.
                    🤔
I've been wondering if it's because it's a Graphic app that it can't do that. I've been wondering if it's because it's a Graphic app.
I've always used copy & paste.

There is another issue that I've been holding off on posting for a while.
When text import (or Link) is done without specifying the area, the text is enlarged and the original resize function becomes ineffective.

I'll start a new topic on this issue, as there are many related items.
