Maybe I'm doing something wrong here...

The documentation says "The grid settings of the document, canvas or artboard can be edited using the Grid panel."

      Well, apparently it cannot.

      1. Create a new document.
      2. Select the Artboard (Artboard 1) in the Canvas & Artboard Panel.
      3. Bring up the Grid Panel (Panels > Editing > Grid).
      4. Adjust the values. Nothing happens. The only thing that works in the Grid Panel is the Show/Hide Grid icon at the bottom.

So either the Grid Panel is not hooked up or I'm missing the magic touch.

PS: It just happens that you can see another glitch during this recording. I'm trying to show the grid (View > Guides > Show Grid) and it doesn't show. It doesn't show up either when I try to preview it in the Grid Editor (clicking the Preview checkbox). This is a glitch of some sort because this hasn't happened to me before. Therefore I'm attaching the saved document (it's empty) but I have history and what not enabled in it, maybe that's helpful. Also attaching the workspace and settings xml files.

Apparently can't upload XML files here so here's the link to DropBox:

@pentool I tried with the settings files from DB and I can replicate it here.

I think it happens because the 'Spacing' value in Artboard Options > Grid tab
        is set to 0 px.

There are 3 places I could find where you can set the Spacing for the grid:

          1. Artboard Options > Grid tab > Spacing
          2. Grid Editor
          3. Grid panel

The Spacing value in the Artboard Options > Grid tab and in the Grid Editor are synced up. You can change it one and it will be reflected in the other. However, the Spacing is not synced in the Grid panel itself to what these other two are showing (even if you change them).

And BTW, I don't think that's the reason because it wasn't zero (I'm not sure what the value in the file is when I uploaded it), but I can set it to any value and the Grid panel still doesn't do anything.

@pentool Here with your settings loaded I create a new document and the
grid is not visible when enabled.

But when I open the file you uploaded its grid is visible. 🙂

See, it's messed up (or something). Those settings were used with that document.

@pentool I think this is more like a usability issue.
In this case, there is no grid in the new document so it cannot be shown (maybe it should create a default one when show grid is enabled).
A grid can be created using the Grid panel menu Create... commands

Also, in the Grid panel menu there is a Select Grid submenu, that can be used to select the active edited grid in the panel.
