    1. Change to applied shape style override doesn't propagate ( accumulated )

    1.1 Description

This doesn't happen for color styles. Didn't test for other types.

    2. Available shape style overrides list not showing any styles ( accumulated )

    2.1 Description

Clearly I have defined two shape styles in the document.
This doesn't happen for color styles. Didn't test for other types.

    3. Having more than one role on an object causes additional empty styles ( accumulated )

    3.1 Description

Here, "Shape" is used as the second one.

I assume having two roles on an object causes this, because the styles are then named the same. But imo VS should in this case automatically apply semantic augmentation via parantheses, that is "style name" ( Object ), "style name" ( Shape ), to the style.

3.3 Variation 1 : Canvas and object role

    3.3.1 Description

This also happens when both, the canvas and the object have the same role.

    4. Multiple roles on same object causes confusion applying them ( accumulated )

    4.1 Description

As a programmer I already have a strong hunch that this is caused in the backend by object references with the same name. So, because both styles are named the same, VS likely can't choose the right reference. Should this be the case, I'd suggest semantic augmentation of the respective styles via use of parantheses.

    4.3 Continuation 1 : Selection indicators

    4.3.1 Description

    • 4.2 is fixed
    • selections that indicate applied styles are wrong
      • only firstly listed style ( color ) is selected
      • doesn't matter which one was applied first

    4.3.2 GIF

    4.4 Continuation 2 : Missing available overrides

    4.4.1 Description

    • overrides show only the color part of the source object "multi" as available
    • again, if this is fixed, semantic augmentation via parantheses would be nice
      • multi ( color )
      • multi ( shape )

    5. Canvas role "Object style" doesn't work, others do ( accumulated )

    alt text

    6. Object style role causes object deletion to not reflect immediately in layers panel ( accumulated )

    6.1 Description

The same doesn't happen for color or shape styles ( didn't test others ).

    6.2 GIF

    7. First change to object style won't propagate ( accumulated )

    alt text

    8. Setting a shape on a group within a group offsets the nested group ( accumulated )

    8.1 Description

    Performed on a new document

    8.2 GIF

    9. Copying an applied referencing scatter brush breaks the link ( accumulated )

    alt text

    10. Stroke style role doesn't work

    10.1 GIF observations

    • after the Stroke Style role has been applied, no style appears in the panel
    • as soon as the Color Style role has been applied and the object has been
given a fill, there appear 2 styles in the panel
      • the Stroke Style
      • the Color Style

CEDIT: Stopped working completely in 1.1.026

    11. Changing or removing override of copied object back-propagates change to original

    11.1 GIF observations

    • duplication mode is "Copy on duplicate"
    • first object without override is copied
    • override is applied to copy
    • copy with override is copied
    • override on second copy is changed
    • override of first copy changes aswell
    • the same happens for removal of override

    12. Applying shape to transformed, asymmetrical object not quite right

    12.1 Description

    • applying the shape without the transform seems correct
    • after the object has been transformed non-destructively, the shape doesn't quite seem to end up at the right place ( seems close, but a little off )

    12.2 GIF

    13. Applying a shape style from the styles panel still uses incorrect center, via context bar works

    13.1 Description

    14. Removing shape styles

14.1 Shape panel doesn't provide a way to select "None" as shape style

    14.1.1 Description

    14.1.2 GIF

    Unavailable

14.2 Removing a previously applied shape style via the context bar not working

    14.2.1 Description

    14.2.2 GIF

    Unavailable

14.3 Detaching an applied shape style doesn't remove the shape

    14.3.1 Description

    • whether it was applied through the context bar or the styles panel

    14.3.2 GIF

    Unavailable

    15. Making object names unique after copying, cloning or referencing

    15.1 Description

    • I classified this as a bug, due to it causing various bugs, while not being a bug itself
    • when named objects, groups or layers are copied, cloned or referenced, their names are duplicated as is
    • instead, they should be pre- or suffixed with a document-wide unique identifier
    • this would, i.e., enable one to identify copied or cloned clone sources in the menus
      • this would probably help solving the problem with links to copied clone sources not changing to the copy

    15.2 GIF

    Unavailable

    16. Copying source of clone breaks link to clone

    16.1 Description

    16.2 GIF

    17. Overriding offset path shape effect on copy back-propagates

    17.1 Description

    17.2 GIF
