Knife tool - some issues

I just tested the knife tool on build 1.0.018 RC1 win10.
I started out on a single rectangle, converted to curves.
Cutting does not always work it seems. Just dragging vertically over a path does not make a cut. When I try dragging on an angle, or start from a different side, it does work largely. Sometimes, like with the eraser tool, a part of my object disappears without reason.

After a bit more experimenting - it appears that when the cut cannot be made, it inserts nodes in other segments (sometimes). Screengrab:

@syllie I opened a bug on this one. Looks like there are issues with the intersection.
