@monsterfox This reminds me of the effect/trick you can achieve using Compound layers and contour tool in Affinity Designer. Afraid I don't know VectorStyler well enough if similar is possible.

Achieving this metaball/Truchet tile effect seems like the easiest step to take.
To get that halftone effect too is, at least, where my brain stop working.

Maybe Li Xiao's method is indeed needed to complete this. Your information is very helpful. It's likely a combination of halftone and Truchet pattern. You can also take a look at that video. -

Yes, doing things that way would be time consuming to say the least!
I'm going to look at the Repeater videos and resources (thanks Li-Xiao). I know I'm missing out so much of what VS can really do.

Even if you know much more about VectorStyler
you will still miss Features.Because its such a deep rabbit hole
