  @Boldline Replicated here also. This one seems to be a regression from one of the recent builds. As a workaround: turn off the "Direct Shape Transformation" in Preferences -> Editing Options 2.

  @larsherold Found the bug, it affects the Selection panel only. The option is activated, but it is only taken into use after opening a document (or closing and reopening the current one).

  @Harry The only way for now is to just add a different unit name after the number, for example "10 pt" will set that field to use pt.

  @Pat , thanks Well, I'm sitting at a 40-inch screen with 1440 x 900 pixels. I like large screens with a slightly lower resolution when I'm editing vector graphics. Find it better for the eyes because of the thin lines. Get along with the panels so far, except for a few exceptions.

  @b77 @VectorStyler Thanks. I've always selected the whole object with the select&move tool and it worked so far. I tried to reproduce this problem. I selected and grouped and made sure everything was grouped. With the move tool, I can then duplicate it (Alt-drag) and move it. I activated 'Transform stroke' in the 'Object option' sub-menu, resize the whole object and made it a symbol (Object Role). It appears well in the symbol panel. I use it with the repeater function and the object ends up disappearing from the Symbol panel and from the large object I used to repeat it (Ctrl-R doesn't help). I will continue to test all these steps with a new file from the beginning.

  @Boldline Well, one thing that could help is to find out what are the prerequisites for this to happen. For example: what other actions are taken before. Something preferably short that can be repeated just after starting the app and then replicates the issue. But I will also look into this from a different perspective. There is a lot of persistence happening in the VS UI and it could be that the flip change keeps some size / position from a previous flip.

Before I forget: The only change that will be in the next build is that when a free path (not parametric shape) is scaled or rotated and the "Direct Shape Transformation" is enabled (already exists), then instead of adding a "nondestructive" transform to the object, it will just scale the path, leaving the corners "rounded".
