  @encart , @VectorStyler good point I think if someone would set a new width node and the node would look the same as in your picture here. Then it would be a bit easier to use the node handles from the beginning.

  @VectorStyler ok so deleting the existing settings/workspace files (the ones I emailed you already) fixes the problem with the pen tool here. If anything changes with this, I will let you know

The size in the Transform panel is the size of the object (after transforms / effects). This can be a bit confusing, but showing the transformed size in the Shape panel might result in other problems. @VectorStyler Thank you. Indeed, I am confused. I guess I will have to relearn the difference between the two panels.

  @VectorStyler A dot instead of a line is displayed under the cursor. Just like for the middle point. It looks like the handles are treated like the one in the middle.

  @Igull Looks like an accumulated transform on the stroke. This can be cleared with the Appearance panel -> select Stroke -> and Clear Content Transform in panel menu.

  @Subpath To add a node just before the starting node, select inside the segment instead of selecting the starting node. I will fix this bug ASAP.
