@Ayo said in About the Snap feature: Wouldn't it be better to change "Snap to Visible Only" to "Snap to View Extend Only" or shorter "Snap to Viewport Only" or even shorter "Snap to View Only" ? There is a big chance of confusion with the term 'visible' which is mainly linked to the layer system. I added this to the backlog.

@Li-Xiao said in Corner Editing Nodes shift and distort shapes: @William-Kansepa It is recommended to use the shape panel to adjust the dimensions of the rectangle instead of using the transform panel. This way, you can avoid any distortion issues with the corners. @Li-Xiao, thank you. I tried your recommendation and it works as expected. I once had a go at the Shape panel in my early days working with VS and the only gripes I had with it was: Dimensions input through the Transform panel would not match those in the Shape panel Object size input from the Shape panel would differ from the one displaying in the Transform panel With the multitude of panels, tools, menu items and functions, VS is so overwhelming and unfortunately since I was a very raw beginner in the program, I was then forced to neglect this panel in order to minimize confusion. To this day, I still strongly believe that the Transform and Shape panels should be further integrated to act in harmony. They should both display similar dimensions. Illogical logic perhaps? After all, at the end of the day a dimension still remains as such. Would you agree with me that ideally in the real world one should be able to make manual transformations on the fly and still flawlessly achieve their desired objectives? There is need to introduce more fluidity or rather intuitiveness in VS to complement the otherwise rigidity of some of the panel/modal views and dialog boxes. Observe that in most graphic design software this is the norm. Once again, thanks for the tip.

@William-Kansepa I opened a bug on this one because it should already work with the "Register As Spot Color" palette panel menu option. But that option does not work with unnamed colors. I will extend this to be able to generate color names.

@Boldline said in File size warning indicator option: What about adding an option to warn the user with a popup if the VM file size reaches a certain level Maybe some other form of warning that a popup. Could be in the Document Info panel? But this slowdown issue is a concern, as it should not slow down even with a larger history. Was it slow when saving the file, or when trying to make changes (editing)?

I just need to be able to hide it 100% in a way that is also remembered between program starts. Sticky. I simply don't need tons of visual information that is not relevant for me, ever. Once I disable it, I will never enable it again.

@William-Kansepa Thank you. I also discovered when pressing F2, while I was trying to trigger OBS' replay function, that it will quickly rename Layers as well. Very handy.

@encart I added this to the backlog. Currently doable as pattern or scatter brush.

@VectorStyler said in Navigator - reducing Preset Menu calling: @Subpath Not sure if this can be done with a simple regular menu. Preset editing can be easier in the Preset Manager view, these edit/remove things in menus are added for convenience. I am open for other ideas and will look around in other apps if i find some inspiration But using the Preset Manager for something like this looks a bit like an overkill in my eyes. Btw but the "Viewing Zone Panel" should show the Preset i selected previously.

@VectorStyler If you do add this, please allow us to auto slot what we are looking at with a key press so that it reserves to that shortcut. If a saved view is already active, then it could reassign to that shortcut automatically, somehow? That way it becomes a part of the normal workflow and not just "a setting". Think emulators and save states, basically.

@VectorStyler Burin released a demo version yesterday. I tested it and found it much more user-friendly than StrokesMaker. However, in terms of cost-effectiveness, it is not as good as StrokesMaker. There are some new videos available on their website that you can refer to. https://pixeology.com/Burin/install.html

@debraspicher your welcome In case you don't know: If you use one of these pickers (doesn't work with the color picker second from the left) and hold down the CTRL key, you can temporarily switch to the Transform tool to be able to select a different shape

@VectorStyler said in Layer color swatch color for initial startup and new document: all other apps have the default to black Not true, my cs6ai gives a blue coincidentally. And on the other hand you argue: 'VS is different'.

@Boldline said in Is there a way to auto-set spacing when creating a radial repeat so it spaces perfectly?: When using the rotate tool to create a radial repeat, I was wondering if there was a way to set it to set the repeat to end perfectly? No option for this, but you can type into angle a 360 / 24 (or any value from the repeat field).

@Boldline Not sure about this. In all other cases, this icon is about proportional sizing (or scaling).

@Boldline I think it is not that useful, as you can get the same modal view if you activate the tool and then click (not drag) on the canvas. Also, the shape panel can be used to adjust properties of the shape after drawing.
