  In the new build (194): selection box mode can be changed with the Preferences -> Adjustments -> Selection Box drop down. The Rotate with Knob mode will show a separate rotate knob handle for rotation.

  Some explanation on Offset Path and Contour: In VectorStyler, the Offset Path is a shape effect, an adjustment of the shape of the object (like the other shape effects). It cannot change the style of the object (stroke color or width). There can be improvements here in the new builds, but these will be limited strictly to the shape. The Contour effect is an object effect, meaning that it blends fills and outlines between selected styles. This can be improved in the future as suggested in the original post.

  What an improvment. I just tested a flow with some basic adjustments opening the menus: it is so much better (for the eye and also the nerves). THANK YOU very much!

  @Tadengey hey... I'm with you. first day using it "seriously"... I'm overwhelmed with the myriad of configurations, options and features. If devs and UX designers are successful in balancing content and usability, this could be one of the biggest Illustrator predators.

  @vectoradmin Tracking does provide a solution, but it is a bit hidden and awkward to use often. Also, movement steps are a bit big (although this is something can be set to a finer setting?). Affinity Designer (who can drive me nuts sometimes) has the kerning controls between letters setup pretty good...once you have found it!!
