Another interesting optical illusion. Made in VectorStyler and Black Ink VectorStyler Dashed Lines, random colorized, the whole thing copied, and two copies placed underneath, each with a Gaussian blur image effect Black Ink Only for Symmetry, because of its symmetry Fusion Feature. How to fuse such a Shape made with this Workaround ? Of course you could connect it by hand. One option would be to remove and join the protruding ends using the Trim & Join Tool. . . But there's an easier and faster method. Select your Design; protruding paths don't matter. Go to Object > Combine Path and select Regions and you'll have a closed shape. Here a Video

@monsterfox said in Kind of Metaballs in VectorStyler with Tips and Tricks: @Subpath This effect is similar to the halftone effect I provided last time. Have you tried to see if you can make it? As I wrote already in the other thread, I don't believe this effect was created using the Metaball trick. To me, it looks more like it was created using the Truchet method. But i have no clue how. But you're welcome to try it yourself via the Metaball technique; all the necessary techniques are described in this thread here. Btw. anyone else is also welcome to try it. @Li-Xiao I gave your Method also a go. Then i converted the result into curves did a break apart. Added an Outline Zigzag Shape Effect onto it and Colorize it. Looks like this, i call it a spikey star [image: 1749330387706-spikey-star.png]

@EricP Thank you, you're very welcome. Nice to hear when it was helpful in one way or another. I like to experiment, and many tutorials of mine are the result of these experiments. They also help me if I ever forget how a function in VS worked. By the way, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

@EricP I'm glad the recorded video was helpful to you. The reason the videos are not public on YouTube is mainly due to a lack of time to maintain them. Feel free to share my videos with anyone to help more people learn about VectorStyler as they are listed.

@EricP Thanks, I'm glad it's helpful. Yes, I was surprised and very pleased too. Its also great and fantastic that the randomize function will use the selected colors only then. Love that Feature.

@monsterfox , @VectorStyler . . You can't simply create a color palette and color your shapes with it. There is a little more to do then this Either You need to determine the object order and adjust the colors in your palette to that order. Or create the objects of your Design according to a specific system/order so that the order in which the objects are created are always the same. In addition, the number of shapes in the design must match the number of colors in the color palette. The Shape Builder trick can only be used to a limited extent here, and only with objects that don't overlap. Here is a video where I created a color palette according to the selection order of your design. Here the video

Another nice result with this type of pattern creation which work even on simple shapes. All you have to do is apply an offset shape effect to it. [image: 1741177291737-offset-path-1.png] . . [image: 1741177304655-offset-path-2.png] . . And dont forget you could duplicate a composite Shape use the Pattern above but duplicated the circle here which leads to this pattern [image: 1741177785284-two-circles-1.png] [image: 1741177796312-two-circles-2.png]

@William-Kansepa Thank you, i just like to experiment and i am still on a journey of discovery and many areas will probably remain undiscovered That's why I don't see Vectorstyler as a Beast for me its more an interesting Tool that invites you to explore It's nice when these discoveries inspire others, just as I am inspired by the finds of others. By the way, we can all only become smarter if we share our knowledge
