@pilkafa There is text on path, but does not result in this precise image. You can do an Align Object to Path with the Alignment panel. use Split Text to separate the characters, then group the 10 make sure you uncheck the Rotate Objects and you can adjust the position along the path using the last icon in the row https://share.cleanshot.com/Dy1pfhcV BTW: the Alignment panel functions can be revealed with the up/down knob in the panel title

@VectorStyler Thanks. That's correct, but the initial path will jump (wildly) out the position with Reset Center command. Its easier to click last freak node, enter 1 and continue with node setting straight lines with pen tool. Not elegant, but it works,

@VectorStyler Oh! interesting. I only enabled that to make testing of your first approach easy. Without that rotation knob, and the pivot point knobs in the transform panel deactivated, it works exactly as you said. Thanks for getting back on this.

@Raaskot this is not possible, as the stroke is added and does not override the stroke inside the group. You need to remove the stroke from the object that is inside the group, to make the parent stroke thinner. There is a bug here, with hiding sublayers if a style was specified in the parent layer. I will try to fix this.

@EricP There was an old program called "Creature House Expression" that had a similar version back then. There, you could simply select a previously drawn brush with the brush tool itself, and the brush tool would then continue painting with that brush. But i like the VectorStyler way via Ctrl-Key a little more. Because it offers some more possibilities with other Tools too. Here a Video, i still have a copy of "Creature House Expression" works fine with win 10.

@Boldline In the Snapping panel menu open Snapping Options and enable Snap to Path Boxes (second column around the center). This will create separate snapping positions for each glyph

If you go to this URL: https://boxy-svg.com/ And then click on the round spline tool with the single dot [see screen shot] you can see what drawing with a 3-point curve looks and feels like. It is really good for making vectors that are NOT tracing. Bezier curves with the handles are better for tracing existing images, like using a transparent layer.
