@Ayo said in About the Snap feature: Wouldn't it be better to change "Snap to Visible Only" to "Snap to View Extend Only" or shorter "Snap to Viewport Only" or even shorter "Snap to View Only" ? There is a big chance of confusion with the term 'visible' which is mainly linked to the layer system. I added this to the backlog.

@Harry Thank you. You're right, that association also occurred to me. Now I have placed the pencil a little further away (as far as possible because space is limited in a square) and more away from pointing towards the center of the circle. Think that's better. Send an update of the file to Vectorstyler. [image: 1699610509871-4834800c-2c6a-4c80-9a49-26c37aef0524-image-resized.png]

@Ayo Send me the file where this occurred. Could be there are are some other issues with the text (related with the earlier comment on pasting formatted text).

@Ayo Sometimes there are different paths to reach the destination. I just chose an additional route. As long as we reach the destination, wouldn't it be better if there's a faster method? For me, I prefer having multiple ways to achieve the same goal. In case one method encounters a bug, I can switch to another method. This is the best approach before the bug is fixed. Of course, everyone has their own way, as long as the goal is achieved. Thank you for your many suggestions. They will make VS even better.

@Ayo Background Example usage. Point Text is an ideal text form to use in cartography. Compact and bendable too! In a typographic layer with a high density of text objects, you want to use text objects as snapable, but not the text (glyph shapes) itself. It is insecure in aligning symbols to text lines (no need to align to acender, x-height, O-height etc.) and also saves a lot of visual clutter caused by flickering indicators. @Daviator Panels menu -> Color opens the floating color panel. In the floating color panel there is a color picker tool that can be used to pick colors from the drawing.

@VectorStyler said in Grid-It Extension: creating handles: this seems to add lines and circles where the curve handles are. This could be implemented easily, but not clear what is the use case. creating outlines: not clear what is new in this case, it seems to add an outline to the object. These two are similar to Mark Fromberg's Presenter plugin for Glyphs. They are just like a (vector) visual effect, to make things look interesting. @Boldline To me the grid/guidelines part seems to be the most useful, and can partly be emulated in VS, as the developer said.

@Boldline said in Cool ideas to add to the guides in VS: The ability to cut a selected guide with the knife tool and then delete one selected section of it or the other The ability to trim guides to the artboard by adding the guides while the artboard itself is selected The problem in case of VS with this is that guidelines are not part of the graphics (layer) hierarchy. They are just "guides". But it is possible to turn objects into guides, in which case the knife / trim tools will work

@Harry working also outside VS Technically this is doable, but when doing this MacOS will (and should) notify the user if it allows VS to record the screen. And the user must add VS to that allowed list somewhere in the security settings.

Here a few tries from me VS to Affinity Designer 1, no Affinity Designer 1 to VS, yes Clip Studio Paint Vector Layer as SVG to VS, yes VS to Clipstudio Paint as SVG Vector Layer, no Corel Draw to Affinity Designer, yes Corel Draw to VS, yes

@Boldline I was referring to Pencil 's and Brush Tool 's options in the upper toolbar to add them to Path Brush Tool toolbar also: [image: 1693399043614-obraz_2023-08-30_143722144-resized.png]
