@b77 lol yes we can agree on that for sure! The stacking order should be reversed regardless. I'd hope there's a way to retain colors as well. Those two edits tot he tool and I thin it will be in great condition The "Break apart" is a really awesome tool that I plan to use a lot in my work inside VS. I don't think we have to only choose one way to do this task - with the blessing of @vectoradmin both options could be available. Merging a fill shape behind a vector with open spaces already "cuts" into the fill shape - now we just need a way to ungroup that merged result (see pic below) [image: 1634944978914-bd512c44-784a-4a9b-8926-eaf9415f9649-image-resized.png]

@Boldline If the document is in CMYK color mode, it's best for the text color to default to standard 100K black (C0 M0 Y0 K100), so you only need one plate — the black plate (if it's only text). Otherwise you would get 4 plates just for black text — much higher cost, possibly having to remake the black plate because the text is not at 100% black, and also registration issues nobody needs ("ghosting"). If however you want a darker black for text intended for print, and if that black text sits on some other lighter colored objects, setting the fill of that text to overprint will make it darker because it will be combined with the colors under it.

@Boldline Drag the panel from the title area (that double horizontal line under the close button) to the right (or left) margin, where the blue highlight indicates docking.

@encart Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. There's a lot I learn on the forum from everyone else asking about things I didn't think or know to ask. I'm glad I was able to help others as I have been helped

@KF The above steps work here (on Windows). I have to investigate this further. There have been reports of issues with Windows clipboard before.

@Boldline Thank you, you understood me correctly. That's cool that it's already possible in VS. Kind of a hidden Feature, because there is no visual indicator that this is possible

@Boldline In the Path panel, second row third icon should close individual paths without joining them.

@b77 said in Outline stroke: @William-Kansepa For what you asked in the original question, use 'Expand Stroke' from the Styles menu. Thank you so much @b77. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to Numeric Path for coming out with an unorthodox program. It definitely keeps us on our toes. After tons of years on an Adobe diet, I am having to unlearn a LOT of things.

@KF But, if you need vectors after export, use PDF or SVG formats. With some exceptions (image effects), these will have vectors.

@vectoradmin said in Offset command adding too many nodes/anchor points: @William-Kansepa Were these offsets created in a single step (by setting the Steps field to more than 1) or in multiple steps? Sometimes it is better to do in a single step, because then all offsets are created from the outer shape. When the offsets are not uniform (as in the above case), then it is still better to create each from the outer shape, by increasing the Distance value. When an offset is created from an offset, this may result in more nodes than needed. I add this to the backlog as a task to improve repeated offset precision and avoid adding too many nodes (or maybe an option to keep the node count). The nature of the design requires that this be done using single steps to maintain precision.

@Boldline That explains why I could not replicate it. I was using the panel (not the popup). Now the root cause is clear, and it will be fixed.
