@VectorStyler Ah, I just checked the original AI file and it seems you are correct in what you say - it really didn't click as AI draws the 'outline' (display preview) in black no matter what layer you are on (unless there is an AI preference that has been permanently changed on mine for 40 years ) - it doesn't use the layer colour ? @Boldline If turned off, the history will be still recorded because it is needed for undo / redo, but it will not save it into the file when the document is saved. Besides disabling the store option, also reduce the "History Limit" field to 1, to reduce how much history is recorded.

@VectorStyler I tested with two font types: Times New Roman OTF and Zapfino TTF. Same result with both. Then I loaded the page with a mix of OTF and TTF from various foundries and none of the fonts imported back into VS from the EPS file.

@VectorStyler In Photoshop it's always been done by double clicking on a layer which gives you access to all layer features including Blend ranges which is done with sliders - in all Affinity apps you click on the cogwheel in the layers panel, which is done with curves - Always good for dropping off the opacity of colour and a really quick and easy way of producing a mask in Affinity which also works on groups. @VectorStyler I can not explain how, but it works now. From search bar and file explorer as well. I didn't restart the app. VS was running in background. Since I remember I have random problems with opening files assigned to VS from file explorer, SVG's for example. I coudn't find any sequence yet. Do you have any ideas what should I do to get closer to solving the problem when it arises?
